FOURTH ENTRY

Hello!

This will be my last entry on this journey, I`m so sad. My holiday is soon over and I have to go back to my cold home. I heard it has been raining a lot at home lately too, so I have to enjoy my last moments here.

The last thing I went to see here on Barbados, was... the library!
I had to go back into Bridgetown to the public library named National Library service of Barbados.

I went here because I wanted to know a bit about the litterature in Barbados.
Barbados litterature is considered as a part of Caribbean litterature.
The most famous writers from Barbados is essayist John Wickham, novelist George Lamming and poet Edward Kamau Braithwaite.
After reading a bit from all of them, I must say I understand why they are Barbados pride in litterature.

My trip ends here, don`t think there is any interesting story of how I took the flight home etc. so I`ll end it here.
Thank you for following my journey to Barbados.

THIRD ENTERY

I have now been here at Barbados for a week, just enjoying the island.
The food here is amasing, and I am impressed by the people who live here.
I`ve got to see some other sides of where their pride is.
When you are here, you might get to notice that they love cricket and football, which is a part of their sport culture.
some people playing cricket at Barbados.
The weather is so nice here, a lot of sun, and I think I`m quite sunburned on my back by now.
I also went to Upper Carlton some days ago, which is a city north from where my hotel is.
Another beautiful city. I went there just to get some changes. I wasn`t dissapointed.
I`m really enjoying this trip, and I love it here!
As a Rihanna fan, this is the perfect holiday. They have a lot of Rihanna suviners around here to, so my collection of Rihanna-stuff has grown. A lot.
The sun is setting in front of me, as I`m writing this.
I think the feeling I have now, is the feeling of being happy.

SECOND ENTERY

When I woke up this morning, it was around 28 celcius. Hot weather for a norwegian.
Today I was thinking of learning some more about the country itself, and the people. I`m a bit curious of me so, I looked up Barbados before I left on wikipedia (not the best source, I know...). One of the things I wanted to know, was why they speak english here. The reason is that in the 16th century barbados was under the british rule, they were working as slaves for plantation owners.

I had decided that today I was going to go into Barbados capital, Bridgetown.

When I arrive in Bridgetown, the city is full of life, and a lot of music and people trying to sell things everywhere!

I also saw some church, because you see, in barbados 95% of the people who live here is christian.

Just resently there had been a parade here on Barbados, which have been called "Remembering our fallen" by the newspaper Advocate.

Some places in the city you could see their flag.

Above is one of the songs, that you could hear around the city. Typical Barbados music.
Rihanna was often played in the shops all around, so you could hear they were proud of their world famous star.
I was walking around the city the whole day and having lots of fun, this place is really full of life and fun people.

FIRST ENTERY

The plain is slowly going in for landing on the caribbean island Barbados. This is where I`m going to be having my holday this year. It`s only for a week, so I`m going to make the most out of it. Since I`m from Norway myself, it`s a long way to Barbados, with 16 hours and 30 min with plain.

if you want to know more of the Hotel I`m staying at you can look at the site in the link below.

As I walk to the buss who is going to drive me to my hotel, with the name Aquatica beach resort, I get to see a bit of the bussy airport at Barbados.

When we are arriving at the hotel, the clock is reasonable for an early bed time. So no discovering today.

by the way here is a pic of the Hotel I found online, my pictures didn`t turn out so good...

My hotel is laying near the beach Carlisle Beach, which is amasing! Just look at this pictures of it!
Again my own pictures aren`t good, so sorry! Stupid me did only bring my crappy phone camera.

Carlisle Beach and my hotel is also very close to Barbados capital, Bridgetown.
Barbados is famous for it`s white beaches and sun, and I won`t say anuthing against that!

Since it`s sun here and a little norwegian as me don`t get much sun at home. I decide to get a little sun on my body. As I lay down, I plug my headphones in and play some songs from my favorit artist, Rihanna.
Barbados big shot, Rihanna. A little girl from a little island named barbados, who is now known all over the world for being one of our times biggest stars.
Funny to think about that I`m in the country where Rihanna grew up...

A thing I have heard is a must to do when you go to barbados is snorkling. So this morning i booked a little snorkling activity at Carlisle Bay Marine Park.
Now the snorkling was amasing, so much can I tell you. the water was so clear and this was just something I will remember forever.
Now one of the animals we saw under water was turtles, which is something Barbados is famous for. The  hawksbill and leatherback turtles.

This day I didn`t have more energy so I enjoyed tradisional Barbados food, which have a lot with fish to do.

A great first day in Barbados.
